Lake Hollingsworth, Lake Morton and Lake Mirror are the best known lakes in the city. Florida Southern College, featuring the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings in the world, is located on the north shore of beautiful Lake Hollingsworth. On the south shore is the Lakeland Yacht Club. Lake Hollingsworth is the center of numerous community activities including Charity 5K Fun Runs, the Annual Lake-to-Lake Classic, Fireworks shows and Boat Races.

Close by is the newly renovated YMCA and Veterans Park with tennis courts, racket ball and sports fields with a new children's play area. Many of the area's parks facilities also feature boat ramps, providing direct access to Lakeland's bountiful assortment of lakes. Lakeland's most recent community fundraiser - "Butterfly Sculptures" will fund the construction of a speciallaly designed park for the developmentally disabled.

Traveling South from the Lakeland Yacht Club on tree-lined Cleveland Heights Blvd. is the recently renovated Cleveland Heights Golf Course and new clubhouse. The homes in this area are a mixture of bungalows and historic Spanish style residence on brick avenues, along with other architectural style homes.
